Going to the local newsagents and seeing Platinum Magazine with my photos featured in them has made me smile.More so for the story behind the scenes! It was a very rainy morning commuting into London, the trains were severely delayed. New equipment I had ordered to try out from USA was not right and the room booked for the photoshoot was suddenly not available so we had to improvise in a very small cramped room. The make up artist had spent more time than scheduled so we were running out of time at the end of the day and the studios were about to close, so I literally had 5 minutes to do the shoot !

When I first met Amy for her 'before' photograph I sensed a LOT a LOT of sadness, even though she was lovely and smiling having won the competition for a make over. In my mind I thought she was a widow hence the sadness in the air. When she cam back in the room hours later with her makeover, she was deliriously happy and beaming of happiness with her new look, it was an emotional moment to see her so happy. As we said our goodbyes and thanked us all to make her feel so special, I had an urge to give her a big hug, I still didn't know why.
Seeing the photographs now published in the magazine and reading the story it all makes sense the sad aura I had perceived.
So despite the day being not how I had envisaged it being used to take my time for my portraits in the right studio with the right equipment, it was all worth it just t make someone happy and get her confidence back, and that is why I love my job.
